Sell your timber

Got slabs, offcuts, reclaimed boards or a stack of timber doing nothing? Put an advert up here. Buyers contact you through the site and you sort out the price, payment and collection between you.

It’s free while the Marketplace gets going. Adverts run for 60 days. Please read the guidelines first: no firewood, and be honest about what you’re selling.

The timber

Short and plain, like “Oak waney edge boards, 27mm” or “Reclaimed pine floorboards, about 20 square metres”.

Not sure? Say so, like “I think it’s ash”.

Rough is fine, like “6 boards, about 2.4m long, 200 to 300mm wide, 27mm thick”.

Like “£40 the lot”, “£12 a board” or “Offers”.

Condition, any splits, shakes or worm, how it’s been stored, sawn or planed. Honest beats flattering. No web links, please.

Up to 6 photos of the actual timber, JPG, PNG or WebP, each under 6 MB. The first one is the main picture.

Only the first half (like DE7) and the area are shown, so buyers can see how far it is.

You

Shown on the advert. A first name is fine.

Never shown. Buyers’ messages are emailed to you here.

Are you selling as a business or privately?

The law says businesses mustn’t pass themselves off as private sellers, so the advert says which you are.

Adverts are for one-off lots. If you’re a yard selling something you always carry, add it to the Regular stock list on your directory listing instead.

Listed on Hawksbury? Use the same email as your listing and the advert links to it.
